Design guidelines

Answer:

What format shall I save my files in?

We require files to be provided in PDF-format, for the fastest turnaround time and to avoid any printing issues

What resolution do you need for printing?

Answer:

For images to be printed with the best quality, we require them to be in 300 dpi resolution. If the file

has to be rescaled, this might still cause pixelation of the images. Please be aware that if you save your file in a resolution higher than 300 dpi, the file size might become too large to be processed by the printer.

What is bleed?

Answer:

If your file has images that go up to the edge of the page, that means your file is full bleed and will require trimming. Due to movement during the trimming, we need to trim further into the document. Not to lose any content, we require a 3 mm bleed.

What are margins

Answer:

Margins are the space left at the edge of the sheets. For best results we need 20mm margins on the binding edge.

What are crop marks?

Answer:

Crop marks indicate where a full bleed document should exactly be trimmed. For more precise trimming of your document, please save your PDF with crop marks.

Do I need to flatten my file?

Answer:

Flattening your file before exporting is important so that the final print matches your design and the printer can process your file correctly. If you do not flatten your file the printer may not be able to read some layers, fonts or graphics.

Paper Type

What is GSM?

Answer:

GSM stands for grams per square metre and indicates the thickness of paper. The higher gsm, the thicker the paper stock.

Answer:

We print all standard paper sizes. These include:

A0 – 841mm x 1189mm

A1 – 594mm x 841mm

A3 – 297mm x 420mm
